Cleared of its squatter encampment a few years back, the notorious Batcave building (a former power plant at 3rd and 3rd near the Gowanus Canal) is still empty, save for the ghosts of heroin addicts past and the graffiti guys who occasionally come through and head up to the roof. And Jake Dobkin, of course. He sleeps in a corner.

After the plans for Gowanus Village, an Enrique Norten-designed development fronting on 470 beautiful feet of Gowanus Canal, fell through, the site went up for sale, asking $27 million. The listing disappeared for a while, but it has now reappeared, sans asking prices. One of the properties listed is an “iconic industrial” building, which is brokerbabble for the “No More Corporate Bullshit” building. Offers invited. [Brownstoner; previously]
